Artist With the aide of Celeste Terry, MSSA, Assistant Executive Director of the United Black Fund (UBF) and Internet radio talk show host, Yvonne Pointer, founder of Positive Plus and the Gloria Pointer Scholarship Fund, and Iris Fields of Seniors In Actions, Khaz Ra’el began a successful non-profit art therapy program for senior citizens. The program is in its second year of being funded through the UBF. The demonstration of Khaz’s art goes beyond painting a memorable painting as seen in the four books he has illustrated: Two Dollars In My Pocket, and Behind the Death of A Child, by Yvonne Pointer; If I’m Looking for a Prince Why Am I Still Kissing Frogs, by Ilinda Reese, and The Book of The Living Dead, by Hassan Omowale. Equally impressive is Khaz’s arriving book of poetry, A Prosody of Love, which paints a stunning picture with words: When
I caressed your hair Khaz Ra’el has been commissioned to do art for Judge Sarah Harper, David Whitehead, Vice President of First Energy, Corretta Scott-King, the Cleveland Cavaliers, and the FBI, to name a few. His backdrops, murals, portraits, landscapes, and illustrations can be seen in both private collections and throughout the U.S.
